Quick Observation
Skied McKirdy Meadows and Carson's Sunday, November 16 and Monday, November 17. Dug a pit, Total HS 80 cm. Overall right-side-up structure, denser at the bottom, lighter toward the top. A minor weak layer ~40 cm down. Required 4 firm elbow hits to fail. Top ~5 cm slightly slushy from warming. Pinwheeling with warming, but no deeper reactivity. No shooting cracks, whumphing, or propagating failures. McKirdy Meadows skied well, great snow! Carson's had good coverage up until the high alpine. By Monday warming temperatures led to wet, heavy snow and melting a lower elevations.
