Our pit was on a small N facing slope adjacent to a meadow on the way to Catherine's Pass up the Summer Road.
We found:
- CTM
- ECTP12
- Both failures were on either side of a 1F layer separating the "upper" snowpack from the faceting bottom of the snowpack (reported by Trent on 11/15)
- Loupe photo is from the faceting snow in the bottom 30 cm of the snowpack.
Our results reinforced our decision to seek slopes less likely to have poorly buried hazards.
