Quick report
Toured up from Swall Meadows today. Reasonable coverage given the low elevation start. Rain crust persisted until nearly the Wheeler Crest. Had 1" of fresh starting around 8k, and only started to get more than 1" around 9.5k. The crust was supportable. Light winds today, and the fog layer over the Owens prevented the snow down low from softening. Saw an avalanche that looks to have run yesterday, but no other signs of instability. Some wind crust starting around 10k, but never more than an inch or two thick. No slab characteristics to the new snow - only minor cookies (dinner plate size or less) on kick turns
