Quick report
Went out for a short tour near Lake George on the track to red cone, didn't make it all the way to red cone and skied down the trees near the skin track after digging a few pits to take a look at the snow pack the first pit was just above lake George near the old water tanks at 9200 feet on an east south east aspect Snow depth 41 cm No facet layer seen Bottom 10 cm finger stiff Top 30 cm fist stiff Second site 10k ft on a north east aspect in an exposed area 3/4 of the way up to red cone Snow depth 63 cm Large facet layer from ground to 15 cm @ 25 cm snow goes from fist to fingers stiffness @ 10 down to single finger the ride out coverage was good but with the noon heat the snow started to get very sticky I recommend starting early for anyone heading out this week
