Quick report
Unusual moderate west-northwest winds caused a down slope wind that produced visible transport and scouring of surface snow. Isolated terrain features had reactive fresh wind slab. Otherwise the snow changed texture before our eyes and filled in tracks half an hour after they were put in. Generally the wind caused scouring that eroded the surface layers. Southerly aspects had a notable sun crust under the top layer of snow. Northerly aspect had supportable old snow. Viewed a few old crowns D2-3 most noteably the deep release on the ridgeline below Shakuseyi that occured last week.
