We finally found some wind protected snow on the Northern Side of the range!
The Red Rock Canyon Slide we found was scary and a good reminder to watch overhead travel even on trails. We kept good spacing on the trail the rest of the day.
Coming up to Look Eyrie we started to see the wind slab crowns from the last week (as well as the old storm crowns week+) We avoided wind loaded slopes today.
Getting reports that the wind slab avalanches are widespread in the summit area on all aspects.

We saw widespread crowns from the storm event over a week old. All aspects.
Anything else that is more recent has been wind slabs. Primarily on the North (inlucding NW and NE)

Likely during the last storm cycle or from wind loading after. This is a good reminder to be aware on paths of overhead hazard. Many people travel in Red Rock Canyon without looking up, be aware of here, just outside the canyon and the Look Eyrie Trail. Red Rock Canyon is passabe via snow machine and skis now
