Quick report
Discontinuous snow coverage along the summer trail up to Green Lake. Someone previously had skinned the same route but enough snow had melted since then, and boots were the right tool today. Winds were blowing snow off Kavanaugh Ridge but didn't appear to be depositing it in regular patterns in start zones. Winds decreased throughout the day. Snow coverage above Green Lake was enough to favor travel by skis, and without them we turned around just shy of West Lake. Snow surfaces were a mix of wet snow in the sun, wind blown and wind eroded snow, and faceting/surface hoar in the shade.
