Toured up to the saddle on 4068’. Dug a pit at 3000’ near the skin track. ESE, 28 degree slope. HS 80cm. Found basal facets with basically right-side-up snow on top. I got ECTP24 at the base, but also had planar separation on the interface between the newest snow and older snow (25cm down) when I tugged on the block. My second test yielded ECTX. I also had a couple of whumphs in close proximity around the 3300-3400’ level, with visible cracking. When I dug down they appeared to have failed on the base facets. I was about the 5th person on the skin track. Generally good coverage across the face and good consistent surface conditions.
