North facing aspect at 8600' in some shaded trees. Dug a pit and saw a base layer of pure faceted snow at 50cm. Got on top of the pit on skis and did some light hops, saw the whole thing collapse. More collapsing could be felt when 2 or 3 people stood in close proximity. It's been a couple days of rapid warming in the area.
