Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
Observed significant snow transport due to the high wind gusts as well as previous wind loading on most aspects. From the position where I made observations the most significant wind loading appeared to be on the N/NE slopes. Although that aspect appeared to have more effect, all aspects that were observed had impact from the wind. Snow depth was variable and seemed to range from about 100cm to 45cm on E/SE aspects. This appeared to be dependent on the convexities and concavities of the slope and thus where the wind transported snow would then settle. Observed isolated cracking within the 5cm wind effected surface.

- Snow Avail For Transport
- moderate amounts
Clear skies, at or just above freezing throughout the day. Experienced high wind gusts and moderate steady wind speeds throughout the day. With the high speeds of the gusts came with heavy amounts of snow transport.
Snowpack
Observed significant wind effect on most if not all aspects. Wind effected snow transport was constant throughout the day. The snowpack appeared to be cohesive with a few exceptions which were relevant based on stability testing. I observed a noticeable and relatively un-reactive layer about 25cm down from the top of the snowpack. This. layer was a firm (1F/P) layer that was similar to the few other firmer layers of the snowpack near the base of the pit.
