Rapid Warming

Skinned up Brighton Hill to the picnic tree for a quick lap on the ridge and down through some NE facing trees. Heating had not begun yet and sun started peaking around noon but soon went away with more graupel. it snowed consistently with periods of graupel, making for fun conditions with some small dry sluffs on steeper terrain. Winds transporting snow along the ridge and loading N-NE slopes like Lanes Leap, and giant cornices look like they’re sagging from prior warming. Also what looked like some rime on the ridge trees. Of note, skin track seemed to traverse straight across the starting zone above brads bowl, and was too close to the cornice edges for my comfort, personally. So I broke my own following the traditional track. Lots of folks from Brighton without avy year too... Not my cup of tea personally.
