Snowpack

Instability Comment

Went for a tour near Bald Mountian in the Oquirrhs. Dug a pit at 9,200 feet on a 30 degree, north facing slope. The hight of the snowpack was 80cm, with the bottom 25cm being ~5mm facets. Performed an ECT which resulted in ECTX. There wasn't much of a slab to speak of on top of the facets, but I would imagine that the weak layer will be more reactive when it is loaded.
