Quick report
We intended to ski the Lick Lake Coulior but at 1030 am when we summited we found the steep south facing snow on the east side of the Swan Crest already questionable. Given the exposed nature of the terrain we switched plans and skied good corn snow on the west side of the peak. The cornices along the Swan Crest are large, we didn't see any failures but could see cracks opening up at the roots in some locations. Snow line was at 6600 on the ridge we climbed.
Avalanche
We saw a wide variety of wet slides ranging from D1 to D3 from the recent cycle. We did see one recent glide crack failure. The last storms snow in the alpine is struggling to bond in some areas. We found pockets of punchy conditions in wind drifted terrain in the alpine and saw several thin, 6" crowns, avalanches that propagated several hundred feet wide that ran in the last couple of days.
