Snowpack

We dug on a NW aspect at about 9400' near Hidden Lake. The layer of near-surface facets was about 2 feet down, and there is a new layer of well-preserved 10-14mm surface hoar about 1 foot down as well. The layer didn't propagate in our ECTs; the slab above it was not well consolidated (ECTN 11 and ECTN 13). Near-surface facet layer didn't propagate either (ECTN 23). As we rode back to the trailhead, we dug some hand pits and found the SH layer widespread on all aspects.
