- Cracking, Collapsing
While climbing West porter around 6 am at ~9000 feet, we observed widespread natural cracking. The inclinometer showed cracking on slope angles starting at 26 degrees with a higher concentration on SE aspects and slopes greater than 30 degrees. I assume that avalanche danger will continue to increase throughout the day as at the time of this observation only ~2-3" of new snow had fallen.
