Sublette Pass

Felt like winter on Togwotee. 4-8" of new, high density snow has fallen in the last two days above 9000' favoring East of the Continental Divide with upslope easterly flow. Thick cloud cover and cold temperatures kept snow surfaces cool all day. Snow surfaces were edgeable and enjoyable for snowmobiling, especially where drier snow exists on northerly aspects. Evidence of moderate south/east wind (atypical directions). Observed wind affect at 10,000' around Sublette Pass with visible fresh drifts in open and exposed terrain. Watch for freshly formed wind slabs above 10,000' for the next couple days if the snow remains dry. In addition, watch for the snow to destabilize on slopes facing the sun once skies clear as the snow transitions from dry to wet. 

No signs of recent avalanches. Saw evidence of large cornice falls below E aspects of Breccia cliffs near Brooks Lake. 

Good coverage remains at the top of the Continental Divide with plenty of season left to enjoy the snow on snowmobiles, skis, or boards. 

Wind loaded terrain above 10,000' where shallow slabs have formed on leeward and cross-loaded slopes from south/east wind.

Total height of snow at 9600' was on average 170cm. Snow coverage on wind scoured southerly aspects is thin or melted down to bare soil. 

The interval snow depth sensor was removed for the season. Total depth sensor remains operational.
