Quick report
Weird conditions. Wanted to see what the snowpack was like after a week away. We skied Scotty's (East-facing), climbed Steve Baugh (Northwest-facing), and skied some South-facing terrain. Overall, we noticed no instabilities except recent avalanches. However, there is what I assume to be a 1-2 inch MF crust on W-N aspects up to 10,000 ft and with a few inches of snow form the morning atop it (some of which has become wind-board), climbing was brutal. The crust made for a great sliding surface, and on steep pitches the snow atop would sluff and send us sliding downhill on a very supportable crust. We did not have time to dig a pit, but we noted a decent accumulation of graupel directly below the crust and more was falling while we were out. East-facing snow was nice, and south-facing snow was nice but a little wet by the afternoon.

Saw some naturals in what I assume was the weekend's snow. Patrol was reenacting the Battle of Gettysburg while we were out, and they got explosives to trigger a similar looking slide on South bowl.
