Teton Pass received ~6-8 inches of new snow since early this morning. This new snow sits above a concerning slick crust across all aspects up to 10,000' (unknown if higher). The smooth surface (see photos) and continuity across terrain makes the hair on the back of our neck stick up. Very pronounced and supportable on southerly aspects and also suportable between 8,000-9,000' even on north aspects. On north aspects at 10,000' the surface of this crust was more broken and unsupportable. New snow in sheltered terrain was bonding somewhat decently as new snow lacked a firm slab. Wind affected terrain where new snow has formed a cohesive slab was unstable, moving quickly and easily downhill. Strong to moderate W/SW winds were visibly transporting snow all day. Two D1-1.5 avalanches were observed at 9700' and 8500' on S aspects. 

Heard reports of two D1-1.5 avalanches off Twin slides. One remotely triggered (see photo), the other skier triggered and hit the highway. Both failed on new/old snow interface. Soft slabs.

Snowpack

Two main layers of concern exist within the snowpack. The first being old weak snow formed after the Thanksgiving storm comprised of a crust/facet combination buried ~2 feet. The other layer is the new/old snow interface with a stout crust (debates continue on whether this is melt freeze or rain).
