There is a minor density change in the new snow. This was cracking. Several large collapses throughout the day, the type that you can see come and go.
Snow pit total depth 110cm. Stout rain crust near the ground. Wilson Glade 9200'
Failure in the density change in new snow only on the 3rd tap from the wrist.

Looked like 7" new with ski penetration up to 12- 15" in places
