Quick report
booted up the S couloir, snow pack on the apron is thin, some places as shallow as 45-50cm, mostly consisting of facets. The snow pack is deeper higher in the couloir. Dug a pit at approximately 3800ft, just below the first turn in the S, we were able to identify several layers through the snowpack, including what is likely the same persistent slab identified in the forecast at approx 85cm and about 20cm from the base of the snowpack. We had no results in our test. The snow surface is variable, but the skiing was surprisingly pleasant.
