Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
Cracking only in the isolated wind slabs. Breeze out of the south picking up. Light snow. Did not conduct tests; only quick hand pits. Stability seemed overall really good with the exception of isolated wind slabs.
Avalanche
Small (D1), isolated wind slab in a subtle concave feature. The wind slab was triggered while I skied the slope but was slow to release so I was able to easily ski out of it. The slab was about 20cm thick and about 80 ft wide or so. It was wind slab but still soft slab. The wind was not blowing hard enough to transport snow when we were there, but talking to others that were up there longer than us, it had been blowing enough to transport snow prior to our arrival and also after we left. Worth noting I did not expect it and we did not observe wind slab at all on any other part of our approach to the Pass.
