Quick report
Cracking observed above the crown of the avalanche, as well as wind affected and drifted snow. Elected to ride with caution in low angle trees on the west aspect. Manageable sluffing where wind slabs were not present, considerably unstable conditions where they were.
Avalanche
Hiking up to Ghoulie Point, about halfway up, on the east aspect at approximately 6,400/6,500 ft. I did not see the avalanche occur, so I don’t know if it was natural or triggered or when- likely within the past day or two. I did see one set of ski tracks heading around to the north of the slide path, not in it. The crown looked to be about 1.5-2 feet thick at the thickest, approximately 50 feet wide, and in dense wind-loaded snow. It ran approximately 150-200 vertical feet.
