Quick report
Impressive depths of right side up snow (150cm-170cm) on the upper slopes of Whitefish Mtn. NW aspects showed some evidence of wind-created density. During the morning, it rimed on us for a bit on the sled in. This wasn’t evident on snow surfaces but certainly was on our goggles. No cracking, whumphing, or other red flags seen. No evidence of recent avalanche activity. Lower slopes of Link Mtn south face still peppered with nearly-subdued alder; it required creative routefinding on the up and a backseat approach to skiing on the down. The middle and upper slopes were well worth it. Noticed a thinner, more faceted snowpack around the rocks near the weather station.
