Toured around on the North side of Flattop today and found great riding conditions. Navigating around lower to mid elevations is still a challenge but up high is not bad at all. Observed widespread surface hoar. When riding down from the top of flattop the snow was supreme but we did trigger a few small point releases on steeper faces. Sluff is definitely something to keep in mind right now. The snow is soft with about 56cm sitting on top of the rain crust. Dug a pit at 5280’ on a NE slope. Our pit didn’t show signs of propagation and showed to be right side up with fist over 4 finger down to our crust. Stuck to the trees for the most part as this new snow seems to be settling in still. I Feel the snowpack is somewhat safe and is going to get more stable with time this week.
