Snowpack

Overnight we recieve 3cm of new snow above 6300 feet.  At some time in the night the snowline rose and all elevations recieved heavy rain that has weakened the crust that formed yesterday and saturated the snowpack.   Bellow the old rain crust (11cm deep) is a weak interface that scored CT1 and failed on issolation durring an ECT in a snowpit dug at 6450ft on a N aspect.   We were also able to find old surface hoar on top of the November snow (30cm) that was mostly decomposed but failed on a compression test with strong force.
