Quick report

ST failed below melt freeze crust. New 18 cm snow dry & light did not fail. 30 d slope, -2 C.

I chose to set a skin track up the snow field and immediately started getting cracking local to my skis and then a large (3 m sq) settled. A ski pole jab quickly confirmed that the melt freeze crust was collapsing into? - basically nothing. I immediately retreated to a skin track in the trees and upper snow field edges. Upper snow fields did not have the distinct melt freeze crust. Descended on mostly shady edges. See photo for difference in ski debris in sun affected & shade. Lowest few turns at the bottom were through light new snow & edging on hard unbreakable crust. No sign of ava around Blossom Lk basin.
