Synopsis:
On Saturday, March 22, 2025 a snowmachiner was caught, buried, and passed away in an avalanche on the backside of Seattle Ridge at Turnagain Pass, AK. This occurred in Warmup Bowl, also known as -1 Bowl. The avalanche was triggered by the rider who was caught and subsequently buried 12' deep. The avalanche crown was 2 to 3 feet deep and around 500 feet wide. It failed on a weak layer of buried surface hoar.

Avalanche Center staff visited the site on Sunday, March 23.

This occurred in Warmup Bowl, also known as -1 Bowl. The avalanche was triggered by the rider who was caught and subsequently buried 10-14' deep. The avalanche crown was 2 to 3 feet deep and around 750 feet wide. It failed on a weak layer of buried surface hoar. Avalanche Center staff visited the site on Sunday, March 23.
