Quick report
Touring sunburst 1300-1500 till 2700 ft. Light mist/rain showers/snow showers over the tour, with snow line around 1500 ft. Temps around freezing. 1,000 - 1,600 ft. HS 30-50 cm. There was what I suspect is a combo rain/melt freeze crust on most of the snow. Tracked out areas had refrozen death cookies. 1,600 ft. - 2,200 ft. HS 50-90cm. Large grained heavy wet snow with crust disappearing fast. Couldn’t feel different layers within the snow with pole probes. Felt right side up. 2,200 ft. - 2,700 ft. HS >90cm. Heavy pow. Couldn’t feel different layers within the snow with pole probes. Felt right side up. Some other skiers said a few days ago this was blower pow. Above 2,700 ft. snow was a lot drier according to other skiers. None/minimal signs of wind affect on the snow we traveled in, or what we could see in the moderate visibility. Skied back to the car though it was a bit manky with bushes, devils club, chunks of wood, and rocks to dodge. Pictures attached showing magnum and the library.
