Went up to ski the west facing yellow jacket trees, and on the way up my partner and I remotely triggered the avalanche from about 15 feet away while skinning on the ridge. It was obvious that wind had been transporting a lot of snow from the southwest side of the ridge and depositing it onto the other side of the ridge which slid. The crown height was about 2-4 feet deep depending on differing areas of wind loading. I didn't get a great view of the entire slide, but estimate it was around 500 feet wide. Once we got to the top of the trees via the ridge there were massive cornices that blocked us from safely getting to the west facing trees so we skied back down the ridge. Also failed to get a picture, but there appeared to be a few hundred foot wide natural avalanche on the main face of gobblers.
