Jenny Bowl

Toured up Paradise to Jenny Bowl starting around 2 pm. Conditions were variable on the way up - at times it was cloudy and cool and lightly snowing and at other points it felt quite warm. On the way up to the top of Lavelle we found ~4" of new powder (probably from last night) that was slowly warming. Skinned up to Point Six via the ridgeline, which had just an inch or two of snow on a firm crust. Big cornices overhanging Jenny Lake with what looked like a couple-day-old large loose-wet debris piles on E through to S-facing aspects. Dropped into the south slopes over Jenny Lake and found between 8" to 10" of heavy new snow lying on supportive but wet bed surface. On turns at rollovers, we could get it to break and slide a bit, but only underfoot with no cracks or propagation, nor did entrain additional snow. We climbed out to the saddle between Lavelle and Point 6 and found similarly fresh wet powder on E-facing slopes, which made for slightly stressful skinning as it broke out every few steps. I'd be cautious of that bed surface moving forward if we get a lot more new snow in the next day or two.
