Quick report
Toured from gate ~1 mi above Bass Creek TH to about 1000ft below the summit to Little St. Joe. Hiked in boots until the summer trailhead, good skinning all the way to 7900 ft where the route along the ridge gets steeper. At that point the new storm snow was not well bonded to underlying layer (which seemed to not have refrozen the night before) and made for less than ideal skinning. Due to those conditions/time, we dropped into the bowls from here, climbed up another few hundred feet a dug a pit out of curiosity. Depth to ground there was about 90 cm with almost 20 cm of that being recent snow. Very stout 5cm crust below new snow that was supportable on the ski down. Great mellow turns in the lower half of the bowl, rest of the ski out was an adventure.
