Quick report

I walked back Bass creek to the big SE ramp of Big Jo, to have a look-see up drainage. Gorgeous day in the hills with minimal wind and cool temps. I was able to get eyes on E-N terrain in the Lappi area, and I didn't see any natural activity. No cracking or collapsing all day. There was just enough snow to climb up BJ off of the trail, and I dug twice on my climb. New snow seems to be bonding well to the old snow surface(s). 1) A bit above the trail: SE, 6500' HS 50 cm, 40 cm of new snow on a crust, ECTX 2) Middle of the SE ramp: 7,500' HS 100cm, ECTN 21 down 30 cm, on what I interpret to be a density change in the new snow. The pack in each location was right side up, no facets at the ground. Trail coverage is building nicely too, I was able to ski -with minimal scraping- out to within a 1/4 mile of the TH.
