Quick report

I miraculously  avoided getting too wet on Carson Pass today. The snow had definitely received quite a bit of rain previously and was very wet and unsupportable. While there were a couple brief breaks in the clouds where I saw blue sky, the clouds were also low and obscured seeing peaks that were further away which made observations challenging. I saw evidence of previous cornice chunks breaking and natural rollerball activity.  I was able to start roller balls, but they didn't grow as much as I expected they would. Skinning was inefficient in the wet grippy snow.  Boot penetration was about 15cms on the previously compacted skin track and about 40 cms off the skin track, where the wet snow was impressively unsupportable. Multiple small waterfalls were running up to the top of Carson Pass today.
