Quick report
Toured the south side of Meiss Ridge in search of spring snow. Coverage was greater toward the highway, with only patches to ascend/ski near the ridge. Creeks were open and running. Snow surface was supportable, with penitentes covering almost all aspects and elevations. Isolated and shaded west facing terrain features held shallow, cold snow from the Jan 27 storm. At the ridge, the north east slope descending into Meiss Meadow held soft, cold snow - although I did not ski this route and can't vouch for how supportable the surface was. I ascended to about 9200' on the ridge and descended a directly south aspect. By 1030 snow surfaces were just beginning to soften, particularly on more SE aspects. No signs of instability were observed.
