Quick report
With temperatures on the rise today, I headed out to the Blues to take a look at the water content of the upper snowpack. On the way up to the top of Spout Springs, the surface remained supportive at 11:00. I was easily able to push the top 4" of saturated snow on steeper rollovers. Propagating column tests and seeing water pooling on crusts was all the rest of the evidence needed to see that there is the potential for wet slabs in the Blues. Until the snowpack freezes again, stay off of steep slopes especially if they are above terrain traps. Check out the video to learn and see more.

Light South wind increasing throughout the morning. Scattered high clouds. Warm temperatures.
Snowpack
I found a saturated upper snowpack with water pooling on a crust about a foot from the surface. My column failed and propagated in an Extended Column Test.
