This D2 avalanche was triggered unintentionally by a skier on the February 14th surface hoar buried 2-3 feet deep. The skier was not caught in the avalanche. Additional information collected at a later date: The skier remote triggered the avalanche from about 15 feet away. The tracks you can see in photos were tracks from the previous day, where someone else had skied the slope without triggering an avalanche.
