Quick report
Skied steep unsupported slopes around Cowboy and Big Chief. Although there was some visible wind affect on exposed ridges, the ski quality did not show it. No avalanches, cracking or even sluff observed in many of the cowboy chutes and the rest of the terrain we traveled. Sun peaked out occasionally but seemed to have minimal effect on solars. Coverage everywhere seems pretty good for this time of year. HS at the bottom of southern cross was about 60cm with 20m to the stout MF crust. Whereas we found an average HS around 4800' (N aspect) to be 130cm with 40-50cm to the thick MF crust.
