Quick report
•Weather Observations: Clear for most of the day with a low cloud deck in surrounding areas; we remained above the clouds. High clouds developed in the afternoon. •Winds: Mostly light to calm at ridge tops with intermittent gusty periods. Slight wind buff on the surface, but it remained fully supportable. •Snowpack/Travel: Ski penetration while descending was noticeably deeper than while skinning. A few inches of new snow skied surprisingly well, with some springiness and density more influenced by wind than water content. •Access: Able to drive within a 5-minute walk of the trailhead. Travel to snowline was easy and quick. •Stability: No significant signs of instability observed. Wind slabs were not present where we were skiing, but blowing snow was visible higher on the mountain. Some loose wet activity was visible on more solar aspects in the distance.
