Came up the N side from the end of Windy Ridge Rd by Embro Lake. Stuck to the trees in higher angle areas due to uncertainty & lack of knowledge about current conditions. Snowpack BTL was very bulletproof ice with some nice powder stashes between the trees. NTL/ATL snowpack was powdery & deep, & fairly reactive with latest storm interface (very weak storm slab with isolated cracking). Lots of wind transport & cornices viewed along the ridge. It was a mix of deep wind transport & very stout crust in areas. Quick pit on south side of high point showed some interesting results for lower layers. There’s an interface 90cm HS that’s 0.5cm pencil hard crust over 1F/4F+ facets. Not worried about it over the short term, but it would be interesting to track over the season. Other interfaces of interest were at 120cm~135cm (4F). Snowpack below reactive interface at 120cm was extremely non-reactive (ICT yielded no result). 90cm interface was RP with facets when I picked it up with my shovel.
