Quick report
Short tour onto the south slopes of Snoqualmie mtn revealed over a meter of snow in the past five days sitting on top of the JDL; took 10 min to examine what's come down. At 5200 ft on SSE we found HS >3m with lots of intra-storm layers that ranged from F to P; most notably a P hard crust sitting 10cm above the JDL, with resistant planar results below the crust on large MF forms. CT6 at 110cm above JDL on a MF crust that seems to likely represent a solar crust formed 2/4 given how cold temps have remained. This crust was very noticeable at lower elevations as we descended below 4200ft back toward the alpental valley floor. 1/31 snowfall seems quite well bonded to the JDL in the areas where we dug hasty pits during our tour, all of which were in open areas at elevations >4800ft and would have been subject to full solar in the final days of January.
