Quick report
Climbed to top of Mazama bowl, skied down to Iceberg Lake, climbed to top of Secret Bowl, and to top of Stoneman Couloir. Down Stoneman and out via Bagley Creek. Bagley creek is a mess of avalanche debris, and travel was difficult. Stoneman had thick crust with smattering of snow and dry debris on top, making for a poor descent. New snow was present in side-loaded collections in the bowls. Appeared stable, as no slides were triggered during descents or ascents, and test slope in Herman Gulch and Iceberg lake gave no result (both 30-40 degrees). Wind transport of snow was clear at ridgetops, with fluffy snow collected just below ridgeline and wind scouring lower down. No wind slabs observed. 2-4'' crust on surface most places, thickest on S-W aspects. Travel was difficult up to top of Mazama bowl and first half of secret bowl. Wet-loose observed having sluffed off of S-aspect rock formations, likely within 24h of observation. Hoar frost present in sheltered areas away from tree cover at higher elevations. Observed across the east spur of Herman saddle. Clear all day, with little wind.
