More instability than expected. Cracking on steeper features gave a hint but our hand pits found only incohesive snow and may have deceived us. The blower was still unstable. Plenty of other folks getting out in the deeper than expected new snow! Early season hazards but the old surface provided a good enough base where we traveled. Have fun and stay safe
Avalanche
Widespread, easily triggered storm slabs on terrain steeper than 35*. Seemed to break on old snow interface 6-10" down.
