Quick report
No new snow the night prior, but some wind. Based on chatting with others in the area, I believe this slide happened this morning before 10 AM. Other than the slide we saw some roller balls due to solar affect but that’s about all.
Avalanche
Delancy South, crown was around 6300 and the run out ended around 4200. Seemed to be a wind slab, crown was about a foot in depth. The crown was on a small ridge just below Delancy ridge proper, the aspect was south east. We did not go all the way to the top of the crown but there was a skinner just above it. I’m safer terrain, hopefully those folks report with better photos. The snow around 6000 was wind affected and I believe it was a wind slab that released. We opted to cross the avy path about 200 feet below the crown and ski the terrain on the other side. The avy debris was soft and stable. We saw a few roller balls from the sun through out the day but no other signs of instability.
