Breakable crust in the zone until 5000-5500 ft. We kept it very mellow in dense trees below 30 degrees. We experienced whumpfing several times on the skin track and felt several collapses, none consequential due to our terrain choices. We did not trigger any avalanches but heard what sounded like D2-D3 avalanches occurring naturally across the valley.
