North aspects below treeline (11,000 ft) were primarily a well developed depth hoar layer with a 15 cm soft slab on top. Very weak structure. Near treeline a mixed bag of shallow snow, primarily depth hoar or else deeper wind drifted hard slab sandwiching weak faceted layers.
