Surface hoar formation in open meadows around 6800’. Small wind slabs remained above loose faceted grains in isolated, less-sheltered locations. Snow conditions were good for skiing in sheltered N facing terrain, but rough for skinning with loose facets over crust.
Avalanche
Several old debris piles from D1 slides, likely many days old. Possibly skier triggered, with tracks in and out. Hand pit adjacent to the slide path revealed 3” 1F windslab over F facets.
