Avalanche Obs: Widespread whumpfing from the moment we left the parking lot to the end of the day, which was most pronounced in forested openings. Widespread cracking in similar locations, however cracks weren’t very long n length (shooting cracks averaged about 1m long). No new avalanches were observed. Snowpack Obs: See attached Snow Profile for detailed snowpack points obs. Facets & depth hoar was widespread & down 40-55cms, depending on aspect & elevation, w/ shallower depth on low elevation solars & deeper on higher elevation polars. 4-5mm surface hoar is widespread on the surface in openings. Weather Obs: -AM: Broken cloud cover, L winds from the W, Precip: Nil -PM: Overcast cloud cover, L winds from the W, Precip: S-1, moving to S1-2 after 1500. Riding conditions were good with HS of 61cms at the road increasing to 85cms at our high point (9400’). We stayed out of avalanche terrain but low angle openings are skiing really good!
