We saw no signs of instability or recent avalanche activity. We observed a wide range of crusts that broke down throughout the day on sunny slopes, while slopes facing away from the sun had breakable to razor thin crusts with facets beneath.

Temperatures climbed above freezing early with minimal cloud cover. Light winds kept some of the heat away from the slopes.
Snowpack
Crusts: We found varying thicknesses on S, SW, W, NW, N, and NE. These ranged from razor-thin temperature crusts on the north half of the compass to a full solar bake of 2-5 cm thick crust on W, SW, and S aspects.
Wet Snow: These crusts broke down as temperatures climbed throughout the day. On the southern half of the compass, the entire snowpack was moist. Percolation columns were observed ~5 cm below the surface and measured 10-20 cm tall on W- SW aspects.
Facets: Dry sugary snow was beneath these percolation columns on the west aspects. NW had moist facets directly beneath the crust, but quickly returned to dry facets 20cm below the surface. North aspects had thin razor crust with predominantly dry facets below.
