We remotely triggered a cornice release from about 200 ft away on coyote ridge. Temperatures were still cool (high20’s) and there didn’t seem to be any wind effect up there on that section. We had just gained a small knob when we felt the ridge collapse, saw it move and heard the snow sliding down the slope. Cornice released about 6 feet deep to the rock surface. Skiing was cold and dry for most of the day but as we dropped into Coyote Creek (north facing) around 1:30 the snow transformed into a heavy, wet dense suction monster. Skis iced up, clumped up immediately, and was transforming quickly. The skin up the south gave was terrible with sticking and glopping. The ski down into Titus Creek (north) was still good cool snow but Coyote was hot! Felt like April out there. Winds were calm and the sun was out off and on after 12pm. Felt like it was 50 out there. Even skiing down Titus Nordic at the end was grabby and slow.

Avalanche

Small remotely triggered cornice releases today at about 11:30am. No one was caught and the slope below was not steep enough for the snow to go very far. Cornice was north facing and broke all the way to the rock face, about 6ft??
