Quick report
- Cracking
- specific
Did a short tour up from Timberline today. There was significant wind drifted snow and over the course of the afternoon things started to get a little touchy. I was able to trigger multiple small test slopes that had been wind loaded at the end of the day. Traveling conditions were quite variable with low visibility, deep heavy windslab, and bare ridges. Cornices were also growing in isolated areas. Steep leeward slopes were found to be reactive today. Cracking was primarily localized but occasionally there was some shooting. Slab depths tended to be 30-50cm deep.

Snowpack
I was happy to see a seemingly good bond between the new and old snow. The instabilities seen were on a slight density change in the newly formed windslab.
